After another amazing year of carp and catfishing in 2008, our first customers of the New Year kept up the momentum on their return trips to the Ebro to try for winter carp.
If you need any gentle persuasion to come fishing with Ebrocatncarp for not only some early spring Spanish sun, but also the opportunity to land large winter carp, then these catch reports should whet your appetite!

We are now looking forward to another season of

A FANTASTIC START TO FISHING IN 2009

These three mature 'likely lads' were on their first fishing trip with Ebrocatncarp, which was also
a celebration of young Daves birthday, and they gave us plenty of laughs along the way too!
Even with nature conspiring against us with some slow fishing, the lads pulled in 276lb of fish in 3 days with a lovely 42lb for Roger, 34lb for Dave and a very respectable 28lb for Trev. 
 

Jon and Josh

Young Josh and his Dad enjoyed some good fishing, and fine weather on their trip last week.
Josh showed his Dad how it should be done, landing a 33lb carp and even bigger, 38lb carp, on his own secret bait, which turned out to be a bit of spicy sausage ( not so secret anymore Josh! )  Well done! Jon also gave his lad a run for his money with an impressive 31lb carp 
We think a return 'Dad and his lad' trip might be planned for catfish!

Steve and Alan

Our regular visitor Steve Barnes, was back for his 5th visit with Ebrocatncarp, and this time brought his mate Alan with him for a quick 3 and a half day break to grab some Spanish winter sunshine, and also to land some good fish. On their day of arrival Alan surprised himself by catching a 65lb catfish on carp gear, whilst Steve bagged 7 carp to 28lb. Day 2, and Steve got a new pb of 40lb, as well as 14 other carp, including four high 30’s

Day 3 saw Alan net his pb with a 37lb carp, followed by another 10 fish to 33lb on day 4. Over just
3 days, and a short half day, the lads had 43 carp, and 1 cat on the bank, including 9 x 30’s,
and a 40lb, totalling 935lb.

Colin and Chris

After a previously disappointing trip with another fishing company down river, we were understandably pleased to welcome Colin McGorian back for his second trip with Ebrocatncarp. After a combined carp and catfishing trip in 2008, this time Colin bought his good friend Chris with him to concentrate on winter carping. We can confidently say there was no disappointment!
Over a 4 day trip, the lads had 41 carp on the bank, totalling 797lb, including 5 x 30’s of 31lb,
2x 32lb pb for Chris, 35lb and 37lb, and a pb 45lb for Colin.
Needless to say Colin is already booked for another trip in June this year.

Steve and Lisa

Our now good friends Steve and Lisa were back for their 4th fishing trip this year with Ebrocatncarp. Combining this visit with a spot of sightseeing, Steve had 4 days fishing. Conditions made the fishing a bit slow, but Steve still managed to land 15 fish including a nice 32lb carp, and he has already booked for some winter carping in February 2009.

On his first trip out to the River Ebro, from the Valley’s, Steve landed carp to mid 20’s as cats to 162lb on his last day, he had a craicing time with the other customers on the bank, and headed back to Wales promising to spread the word! 

Chris and Simon

Simon  Chris and Simon were on their first trip with Ebrocatncarp for a weekend trip for cats.
In just 3 days fishing, they landed 1824lb of fish, with 12 over 100lb, with a 147lb
for Chris and a 151lb for Simon

Jimmy and Nick

Our mate Jimmy was back for his second visit of the year, bringing his brother Nick,
who landed cats to 120lb.  Nick can’t wait to come back and
next time he wants a week’s worth!

River News

After very high water over the past few months, the levels are now fluctuating as the weather gets warmer. Carp fishing is excellent with a lot of 30's and a few 40's being caught by our customers.  After extremely high winds and localised early spring storms, the weather is now much more settled, with bright blue skies and warm sunshine, temperatures regularly reaching 20 degrees.
 
We are now looking forward to the next few months of good carp fishing, before heading into a new catfishing season, when we confidently expect all our customers to land 100lb catfish and exceed their personal best.
