LATEST NEWS

2009 has been another great year for all of us here at EBROCATNCARP, and as it draws
to a close, here are some of the highlights, along with updated catch reports.

THE BEST DAYS FISHING AWARD goes to the Salford lads, James, Andy, Jim, Andy and
Barry ‘Chippy Tits’ who along with Darren and Lily, on just 6 rods, landed 46 catfish,
including a double take of 155lb, and a massive 180lb for Jim, making ‘catch of the day’
a slight understatement.

In July, we were very pleased to be able to help support the HELP FOR HEROES charities
by donating a free 3 day fishing trip for auction at the Metropolitan Police Angling Society,
and the successful bidders, Ralf Tate and Gareth Spurgeon, upgraded to a week’s holiday
with us in September. We followed this up in August by donating a similar trip as a prize for the STONEY AND FRIENDS charity, who support the MACMILLAN NURSES.
The winner, Shaun French is taking up his prize in May 2010.

We’d especially like to mention John Paine, Paul Wheeler, Fenton Trewick, for their help
with leaflets and promotions, Jimmy Molloy for running repairs Mark Wright and Sean,
for all things Volkswagen, to Penny Merricks for all things Ikea, and
last but not least to David Mears for giving us the best website on the Ebro!

Thanks so much guys, for everything, and thank you to all our regular customers for their
continued support, and we look forward to welcoming lots of new anglers in 2010.

 ANDY and BEN

Our good mate Andy, back again for his 4 th visit with us, chilled out in the September sunshine, and was very happy with 720lb of fish over 3 days, with a nice 101lb cat for Ben 

DARREN and LILY

Darren was back for his second visit of the year, this time bringing his other half Lily, between
them they landed 41 cats in 4 days, with a new PB for Darren of 33.5lb carp.

DARREN gets the EBROCATNCARP PRIZE FOR THE UNLUCKIEST ANGLER, OUT OF
41 CATS HE JUST COULDN’T TIP THE SCALES OVER THE 100lb BARRIER
WHILST ALL THOSE AROUND HIM WERE BAGGING UP BIGTIME!

CHRIS BUTLER and PHIL MUDDIMAN

Both Chris and Phil were on their first visit with EBROCATNCARP.
Chris had 14 cats over his 3 day visit, and Phil had 735lb of fish in 3 days,
including a nice 140lb cat. Chris wrote to us...’
just a belated note to say I had a wonderful time with you in Spain recently,
I will almost certainly return again’

MATT and PAULA

Matt was back for his second visit of the year with his girlfriend Paula, and between them they landed 897lb of fish, and Matt netted a nice 30lb carp, a new PB for him.

PHIL and DEAN

Back for his second visit of the year, Phil and his mate Dean caught 14 cats,
with a nice 130lb for Phil

JIMMY, SPIKE, NICK and JIM

Jimmy was back again, this time bringing the family! They had some great fishing,
including 22 cats in one day, a 144lb for Jim. Everyone had a 100+ cat, and they booked
another trip within days of their return to the UK.
Jimmy wrote to us ....’ just wanted to thank you guys for a great weeks fishing.....
My dad really loved it considering he’s only ever done sea fishing before & he definitely
wants to come back again, so does Spike, so is the apartment
available for same time next year?’

THE EBROCATNCARP SURVIVAL AWARD GOES TO JIM SENIOR,
FOR CONSISTENTLY BEATING EVERYONE TO THE TOP OF
CARDIAC HILL WITHOUT HAVING A HEART ATTACK!

TREV and DARRYL

OH NO! Trev came back YET again! This time bringing son Darryl, and they had some
great days sport, with 2110lb of fish in 3 days, including 5 100lb+ cats. GREEN ARMY!

ALAN and COLIN andJIM

 

On his first trip with us, Alan landed 26 cats in 3 days, including 4 x 100lb+, Jim had 519lb of
cats in 2 days, including a 157lb plus and Colin landed 100lb+ cat, and 4 x 30lb carp.

All of these lads came out fishing on their own, Jim was on his second trip, and Alan and
Colin have kept in touch, and their winter carping trip 2010 is already booked.

Alan wrote to us...’The lads were brilliant, if you could pass on my thanks, for a superb
week... I would be very grateful’

GILES AND MARC

 

Giles and his mate Mark were back for their second trip out with us, and their catchincluded
6 x 100lb+ cats, with PB’s for Giles at 162lb, and a 134lb for Marc.

JOHN, SHANE, TONY and ‘Peanuts’

On their maiden voyage with us, the lads went home happy after landing 34 cats including
6 x 100lb+, with Shane taking the first prize with his 160lb

John wrote to us ......’ Just a quick line to thank you,Tom and Heiko for an awesome fishing holiday. It surpassed all of our expectations. The hard work and dedication of
Tom and Heiko resulted in our catching fish that we never imagined’

FENTON, AL, ADRIAN, TIM

A first time trip for our mate Fenton, with a massive 3029lb of fish over
3 days including 9 x 100lb+ and Fenton also netted a nice 35.5lb carp. Fenton wrote to us ....
’ I just thought I would drop you a quick note to say what a fantastic time we all had this
weekend with a total weight of over 3 ton of fish and now paying for it with aches and
stiff muscles!! Heiko and Tom are smashing guys and we all had a really good laugh with them.
The experience and enthusiasm that comes with them is incredible.

We honestly cannot fault the trip in any way from the moment Tom collected us on Friday
night to when he dropped us back last night the only thing that would have been nice
is another few days on the bank.

Adrian wrote to us separately...... definitely the most memorable and the best fishing trip
I've ever had (I don't just speak for myself either).Thank you again for a wonderful trip,
none of us would have changed ANYTHING about the whole weekend......

JASON and BRIAN

The lads were smiling all the way home, with 40 cats over 4 days,
including 9 x 100lb+ and a fantastic double take.

DES AND GEORGE, Lt. DES, Lt. GEORGE, and Tom

The lads were on already visiting friends in Europe, and stopped off for a spot of cat fishing,
landing 943lb over just 2 days, including a 126lb cat for little George.

EBROCATNCARP BEST PICTURE AWARD goes to Little Des, Little George
and Tom, the smiles say it all, magic !

JAKE, DAVID, and JAKE Jnr.

These lads also stopped off for a couple of days fishing on the way to Southern Spain.
They landed 1165lb over 2 days, including 6 x 100lb.

ANTHONY and PAUL

On their first trip out with us, Anthony surprised himself with a whopping 172lb cat,
whilst Paul landed carp to 25lb.

Anthony wrote to us.....’ it was a great trip… Tom & Heiko were both patient with us despite
no big fish experience, especially Tom who was always there to offer help/ advise as
needed…the apartment was great as well…. . Deffo up for coming again!

DOUG, GLYNN and MARK

Back for his 3 rd trip Glynn, and brother Doug and nephew Mark, went home very happy
with Cats caught to 143lb, with 9 x 100lb+

DOUG GETS THE EBROCATNCARP MASTERCHEF OF THE BANK AWARD FOR THE
BEST FRIED BREAKFASTS EVER. SORRY WE COULDN’T GIVE YOU THE FIRST
BEST CUSTOMER AWARD, YOU KNOW WHO THAT GOES TO ;)

JON AND JOSH

Dad Jon and his lad Josh were back for their second visit of the year, they had good
fishing with Josh hauling in 4 cats over 100lb including a 165lb and a 156lb, with Dad Jon,
hot on his heels landing a 140lb and a 129lb 

MATT and WALTER

Our good mates Matt and Walter came back to see us again, with Matt landing a new pb
of 160lb, followed by Walter with a 144lb and 102lb, pretty good for sprightly 80 year old!

RALF TATE and GARETH SPURGEON

Winners of our charity prize, Ralf and Gareth had carp to 46lb and cats to 130lb.

 

ZOE AND DARREN

Back for their second visit of the year, young Zoe and Darren had some challenging
fishing conditions, but still managed to land carp to 30lb, and booked
for 2010 before they went home!

 

JIM KELLY

Our good mate Jim was back for his 10th trip with us, YES 10th! Chilling out in the
September sunshine, Jim had some good sport with the young guns, and landed carp to 39lb.
Great to see the ‘new and improved’ legend that is, Jim Kelly!
