Vinnie, Gram, Alan and Pat
Back for his second trip of the year, Vinnie Austin brought mates Gram, Alan and Pat for a weekend break with Ebrocatncarp. After a false start when the lads missed their flight to Reus, and ended up flying into Zaragoza instead, the weekend just got better and better. The delay lopped half a day from their fishing trip, but in just two and a half days, the lads landed a total of 1508lb, including a 162lb, a 159lb and a massive 165lb for Pat all landed within an hour on their first day! Not bad eh lads, hope to see you back for more next year!
Paul Wheeler and Dave
Back for their yearly carp fishing pilgrimage to the Ebro were Paul and Dave. Both seasoned anglers, it was good to see them back again for a 4 day trip. With water levels exceptionally low, it was more challenging than usual for these two reprobates. However, a total of 48 fish were landed, with a 32lb for each of them, and with a total weight of 768lb, and both lads beat their pb river fish. Another trip is already planned for 3 months time for more carp, and they are returning in June to try for some catfish.
Jane Walters And last but not least the token female fights her corner!
The Ebrocatncarp team took a rare day off in early October, and in between soaking up the Autumn rays and reading a new blockbuster, our very own Jane Walters, hauled in her own body weight of cat fish! The 124lb pb was a lively lump, and Jane had a fight on her hands to get it to the bank, over a week later her muscles were still aching, not to mention the bruise where the rod was wedged for maximum leverage! |

| River News
Water levels have stayed almost the same for over 2 weeks now, and it is unlikely to fall any further. Less water is being sucked out of the river as most of the surrounding crops are harvested, and therefore do not need so much water as before and the levels will probably begin to rise quite soon. The weather has already changed, with now a more Autumnal feel of crisper blue skies, but also with more rain and cloudy days. Cat and carp fishing this year has been extremely good, however zander and bass have not been so prolific because of the large amounts of small fish in the river providing good natural food for those species.Click here to see more News |
