Steve Barnes
Steve Barnes and his girlfriend Lisa were visiting Southern Spain seeing family when they booked a 3 day fishing trip with Ebrocatncarp on the Ebro . With Lisa relaxing on the bank, Steve netted 20 carp to 27lb, and a couple of nice Zander. They both went home really happy, and we saw them again sooner than we expected! Russell and Chris Summers Russell Summers brought his Dad Chris over to celebrate his birthday, and just hoping to catch a couple of nice fish. It was their first visit to the Ebro , and they were not disappointed. With 25 carp on the bank including a lovely 43.5lb carp for Chris, along with a 137lb cat, whilst Rob also hauled in a nice 143lb cat. Steve Barnes and Lisa
Back much sooner than we thought for their 2 nd trip in less than 6 weeks, Steve and Lisa had another relaxing time on the bank. Steve celebrated his birthday with 2 x 30’s, and his first catfish caught on carp gear. Altogether, Steve netted 25 fish over 3 days, and is booked in again for September. Rob Fisher, Martin, Having been let down by another fishing company, Rob, Martin, Steve and Paul booked their holiday with us, at very short notice. It was their first visit to the Ebro , and at first the cats were slow to bite. However, the carp were soon on the bait and a total of 33 carp were caught to 41lb for Rob and cats to 114lb. Jim Kelly
Our mate Jim was back for his yearly visit to the Ebro. Once again he was soon serenading us all with his tuneful snoring. Having had so many fish with his name on them, Jim now treats the river bank as his own personal chill out spa, all he wants is his bedchair and a beer. We ‘try to get Jim to wake up, but he says NO, NO, NO!’ Despite being permanently comatose, Jim STILL managed to land 25 carp to 34lb Jayne and Justin Howick Jayne and Justin were celebrating their wedding anniversary with a few days fishing with Ebrocatncarp. Their first day on the bank was quite challenging with heavy rain and strong winds making fishing difficult. However, they stuck it out and were rewarded just as the sun came out, with a 33lb carp. After that, the weather improved and so did the fishing, ending up with 37carp over 3 days. David and Barry At last, after 2 long years, our very own web designer David took up our invitation to come and fish with us, how could he refuse. Bringing along his big brother Barry, they kept each other and us entertained with a touch of sibling rivalry on their 3 day trip to the Ebro. After the rain clouds cleared, the shirts were off and 39 carp were netted to 34lb, along with 17 cats to 140lb including 5 ton ups. Having designed the website, and caught the fish, now David really has got the T shirt to go with it. Derek Edmunds
Derek and his wife took a leisurely drive down from the UK , and after a taster trip to the Ebro last year Derek was eager to get another big cat on the bank. Chilling out and enjoying the banter with other guests, over 4 days, Derek had 8 cats to 138lb. Looking forward to seeing you again next year Del! |
Mark Wright Our old mate Mark had a couple of trips in quick succession, and brought with him his mate Sean. Within the first 2 hours Mark had beaten his pb on both cat and carp. Over the two trips, Mark had carp to 39lb, and cats to 128lb for Sean, and a 68lb cat landed on the carp rods by Mark Ian Tompkins, Andy Good friends Ian and Andy were back for a 3 rd time with Ebrocatncarp, this time bringing along Ian’s grandson Shane, who really showed them how to do it! 14 year old Shane landed an impressive 137lb cat fish and 3 others over 100lb, not to mention a lovely 31lb carp. Over 6 days, the men, and the boys, landed 57 carp to 38.5, and 20 cats. We are wondering if Ian will prefer to come on his own next time, in case Shane lands another biggie! Andy Craig On their second trip with us to the Ebro, Andy fished with his friend Craig for the first week, and was later joined by his girlfriend Karen. Andy beat his carp pb within 2 hours and later got his pb cat. Craig also netted an impressive 142. Over 12 days they landed 53 carp to 38.5 and 26 cats to 154. Simon Northrop, Mark
Simon had a challenging trip out with us in January, when he fished in very foggy wet conditions. Undeterred, he came back with friends Mark and Andrew for another 4 day trip. This time netting an amazing 2231lb of fish, over a ton, between them, all beating their pb, with 153lb for Andrew, 147lb for Mark and 130lb for Simon Robert and Rob arranged the trip as a surprise retirement present for his Dad Roy and they both had a brilliant time. In just 3 days, father and son netted 14 cats to 118lb for Roy, followed by a nice 114lb for son Rob. An all round memorable start to his retirement, we hope Rob and Roy will be back to see us again soon. Trev
Our mate Trevor back for his second trip with us, was as laid back and entertaining as ever. Trev landed 10 cats to 150lb, beating his pb with no trouble ! Hope those Norfolk lads believe you this time Trevor, and don’t miss out on the chance of a ton up next time. David Elford, The 2 reprobates David and Paul were back for their yearly lads away fishing trip, this time bringing Dave’s mate Mark. During 5 days of bankside entertainment, the lads managed to net 16 cats to 108lb, and 12 carp to 37lb for Paul and a nice 31lb for Mark. Dave tried his hardest to catch the smallest carp ever, but failed to get any lower than 15lb over and over again. Try harder next time Rodders! Alan, Gary, Ian The Mirfield Boys back in town again The Mirfield boys were back again for more craic and another crack at the Ebro carp and cats. After an initial North/South rivalry with Dave Paul and Mark, the Northern lads soon settled in catching 32 fish, with cats to 110lb beating the South by 2lb |

A Guide to Fishing in Spain -

| River News
Water levels are now high due to lots of rain over the past few weeks and melting snow coming down from the mountains. This cold water has slowed the fishing down, but now as the days become hotter, the water levels are starting to drop and the water is warming up and becoming clearer, this is bringing the fish back on the feed. Cat and carp fishing has been slow due to the floods on the Ebro, but the numbers of fish on the bank increases daily, with plenty of carp in the high 20’s and 30’s coming out. Due the changeable weather conditions, the cats have been on and off the feed, but now summer has arrived, we are seeing plenty of ton ups on the bank, which we expect, as last year, will continue well into the Autumn months.
