Just as early winter arrives in England , and as the waters both in the UK and France, get more difficult to fish, why not escape the gloomy British weather and head off
to the River Ebro in Spain for some amazing winter carp fishing.

The River Ebro is one of the premier winter carp fishing venues in Europe and
Lake Caspe is probably the most accessible place to fish for wild common carp.

Along with the huge head of common carp, it is also possible to catch mirror,
fully scaled mirror and cruchean carp.

Unlike the popular commercial fisheries, a very high percentage of the fish in the Ebro remain uncaught and this offers the UK angler an unprecedented opportunity
to catch really challenging wild fish, in pristine condition.

Zander fishing in the winter is extremely good, and we always have a rod or two, out on the side because our UK customers rarely catch, or even see a big Zander.

After the low water levels of the summer, unlike other lower regions of the Ebro,
Lake Caspe is controlled by the dam, therefore there is no risk of flooding,
and winter levels remain consistent.

Because of the warmer sunny days, water temperatures do not get ice cold,
and carp are active and feeding all winter.

Our guides particularly love the fishing between November and March, these months come as a welcome break from the high temperatures of the summer. The fishing is good during the day, and it seems that more big fish are caught in the winter, with best results come from PVA bags and just a few freebies now and again.
